Best Time of the Year

Galicia is an off-roader’s dream from October to June. This "rain or shine" window is when the terrain truly comes alive. We intentionally avoid the peak summer months (July–September) to comply with the Ley de Incendios, which restricts forest track access during high-risk fire seasons.

Instead, we embrace the "Green Season":

  • Autumn & Winter: Expect glorious mud, swollen river crossings, and mist-filled valleys. This is when your Tenere is in its element.

  • Spring: The tracks are tacky and fast, surrounded by an explosion of gorse and heather.

  • The "Galician Rain": Don't fear the weather—it’s what keeps the dust down and the grip levels high. A good set of waterproofs is your best friend here.

Food & Fuel

After a day of fighting through technical trails and forest tracks, the reward is legendary. Galicia’s gastronomy is built for the hungry rider. Forget light snacks; we focus on "comida de monte" (mountain food).

Warm up with a steaming bowl of Caldo Galego (a hearty broth of greens and chorizo) or Cocido, the ultimate recovery meal. Being a land of granite and water, we also stop at local furanchos to taste young, vibrant Ribeiro wines served in traditional ceramic bowls. From fresh Empanada (savory meat or tuna pie) to the famous Pulpo á feira, the food is as rugged and authentic as the trails you’ve just conquered.

Culture & Terrain

This isn't just a ride; it’s a journey through a lost Celtic world. Off-roading in Galicia allows you to reach places the tarmac never touches. You’ll navigate ancient Roman "calzadas" (stone paths), ride past lonely Hórreos (granite granaries) standing guard in the mist, and cross medieval bridges hidden deep in the eucalyptus forests.

The culture here is deeply connected to the earth and the "Meigas" (witches) of local folklore. You’ll experience the famous Galician hospitality in tiny stone villages where the sound of your engine is met with a friendly wave. Every trail tells a story, from the rugged peaks of the Serra do Candán to the deep canyons of the Ribeira Sacra.
